What comprises the ink used for tattoos?

The composition of the inks used by tattoo artists still very fuzzy. The truth is that very few tattoo artists know that their inks actually contain! After all, millions of people with tattoos have never had any problems due to ink, but it is still strange that a product intended to be introduced in a sustainable manner under the skin is not better controlled, is not it?

The majority of inks used by tattoo artists in France are imported from the United States and England, most controlled directly through the internet, ready to use. These inks are often made from industrial pigments. But few tattoo artists mix their own inks, and in this case, knowing their composition becomes very difficult. They fix the pigments with binders which can be glycerin or synthetic resins, which lacks the same impact on the tattoo itself! (Colors, brightness, ...)

Today there are even lacquer-based inks, like those used in automotive paints! Otherwise, there are many oxide ores in the tattoo inks and is also common to find traces of heavy metals such as cobalt, lead and mercury.
