Faced with Functional Disorders

A varied ownership

Faced with functional disorders, the gynecologist usually prescribed initially hormone therapy (pills, progestins ...), to correct an imbalance between the two types of female hormones, estrogen and progesterone produced by the ovaries. The goal is to limit the hormonal disturbances that can cause excessive expansion of the vessels of the uterus, the source of bleeding. The placement of an intrauterine progestin delivering regularly inside the uterus or the administration of anti-inflammatory drugs may also be tried. "However, we now know that these drugs are, on average, effective in less than half the cases. Except for the progesterone IUD which is effective in 60% of cases." Professor Fernandez said.
